I was there- I have said all along that the GDP numbers are overstated. I think they are taking US companies like HP that are using extensive offshore labor and calling that business US-based GDP which it is not. In other words the small number of managers managing large offshore teams get assigned all their offshore worker's productivity. It LOOKS LIKE the US is super-productive but the numbers are bogus and the real ramifications are negative because the actual benefit is going to india.

Admit it, 8% GDP and job loss just doesn't jive. We can look around and say the job loss is real- I am sure you must know a lot of people out of work as I do. But where is the hard evidence the 8% GDP is real? I don't see it. We had 4% GDP in Clinton years and it was obvious the economy was busting out all over. Retailers couldn't get staff etc.
