Not really broken. Just a place-holder until I get that code written. View Replies is also just a placeholder right now, Previous, Next, and Next xx don't work yet and neither does entering a message number in the box inside the message.

To do today:

1. Get all of the above working.

2. Highlighting of searched-for text when you click on a message in your search results.

3. Fix problems with URLs in messages. Found one where it's truncated on the new site but works fine on the old.

4. Make sure all other message-display attributes are working correctly, such as bold, italics, and fixed-font.

5. Write search pre-processor to weed out "noise" words like "for", "the", etc.

6. Ditch the separate "SubjectMarks" and "PeopleMarks" buttons and replace with a single button called "Favorites" or "Subject/PeopleMarks".

7. Fix the problem with "Terms of Use" and "Privacy Policy" links going to default display after being clicked, rather than keeping their "normal" display like the menu buttons do.

8. Add a bottom menu, which the user can turn on and off.

9. Make sure #subject and #reply work. I'm sure they don't since I haven't written a processor for them. While I'm at it, I'll add the #board and #msg tags used on iHub. Turnabout is fair play since iHub has supported subject and reply tags linking to SI for a long time.

I also expanded the "searchable message window" to 2 million messages last night for public messages. Still seems to perform alright, and that makes for about 1 1/2 years worth of messages searchable.

The site will gain an Advanced Search like iHub's, but that's likely going to be put off until after the new interface has gone into production.

Edit: Strike #3 off the list. The problem I observed was in a cut/paste message. The original works fine. Since the URL display itself is truncated (but not the underlying href), that's unavoidable in cut/pastes.
