The number of chickens killed is already in the millions. However, now human fatalities are being confirmed and with the high number of flu infections in birds and flu season in humans, there is a good possibility of recombinants, which could very quickly turn into a very big disaster.

Humans don't have immunity to H5N1 and if it can be transmitted human to human, it could easily lead to the big one, which is an increasing concern.
