Ed,

Your ignorance is showing again. The mass driver as weapon is an idea that goes back decades at least. Every single suggestion I've made has long been discussed in informed circles.

A little brain exercise for you... A rock has been launched at you. It weighs ten tons. It is moving at 5000 mph and accelerating as it falls toward the Earth. You have 48 hours before impact. Stop it. Nukes will only shatter the rock into radioactive gravel which will still make a deadly mess of the target so aren't a good solution. You can run but your house, town, or city can't.

I have amply shown that there is good reason to consider control of space including the moon national security issues. You want to hide 6 billion people in a cave and then call the idea of a mass driver used as weapon insane. ggg Good thing I didn't mention the space elevator. It is apparent that you know you have lost this argument as you are now resorting to insults instead of arguments. Keep it to yourself as I have already wasted too much time trying to illuminate the dark cave of ignorance you are hiding in.
