I agree.... 100 %

The political extreme nationalists (in both countries) are the problem. They exploit the "Patritismo" card to their advantages.

They cloud the real environment for the sake of votes, the short term for what makes sense.

I could not agree more... an open continent, more and more makes sense... yes, there may be some problems at the beginning, but eventually, things would get better... and better yet, they will NOT go the way things are looking up if no changes are made....

I agree... allow anyone to do business anywhere and let the market decide...

However, there is an implied ethical responsibility at the individual level NOT to exploit the neighbors, because eventually it will back fire...

It may be a dream... but I keep repeating... we need to do something otherwise the Chinese are going to eat our lunch.

You obviously haven't been to Mexico City lately. Throw open the border and I-5 would be bumper to bumper, northbound only, all the way from Tijuana to Oakland. Or better yet, Berkeley. <g>
