SAN FRANCISCO, Jan 13 (Reuters) - Signs are pointing to improving sales for corporate servers after years of sluggish information technology spending due to a weak economy, the head of Intel Corp.'s (nasdaq: INTC - news - people) server chip business said on Tuesday.

At a press event held by Intel, Mike Fister, the company's senior vice president and general manager of the enterprise platforms group, said his conversations with industry executives about server sales were consistent with reports of an improvement in that sector.

"My pulse as I travel the world is consistent with that," Fister said. "I think that bodes well."
