Brian, try reading the words of a verse first before attempting to speak of them, i.e. Matt. 27:52 -- many bodies arose. . . and 1 Cor. 15: 42-44 It is sown, it is raised. The sown body is flesh and blood, the raised body is a spiritual one like the angels' bodies (Matt. 22:30).

Also: Romans 8:11 "But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwelleth in you, he that raised up Christ Jesus from the dead shall give life also to your mortal bodies through his Spirit that dwelleth in you."

Give life to my what? My mortal body!! When and how is this promise to be fulfilled in a believer?

BTW, as to your dissertation about Samuel. Samuel was not resurrected for his body was still in its grave. Jesus is the first to be resurrected into a glorified state, or are you stating He is not the first-fruits? Samuel's departed spirit was brought up from Sheol by the witch's activity.

You then lose your point because Paul said this:
1 Corinthians 15:44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.

I am guessing that you think the word "spiritual" means that the physical body is not involved. However, "spiritual" is the adjective, and "body" is the noun! The body is the point, because a noun has greater importance in a sentence than an adjective -- simple grammar -- and it keeps my point quite intact, despite your gainsaying.

Jesus says:

John 5:28-29 "Marvel not at this: for the hour cometh, in which all that are in the tombs shall hear his voice, and shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of judgment.

That are in the what?? The tombs!! What is in a tomb? Fill in the blank ________________.
Did you read what else He says? Marvel not!! And that is exactly what you are doing: you are marvelling to the point of unbelief on this critical doctrine. Quite frankly, I fear for your soul, Brian. For according to 1 Cor. 15:13, if you vehemently insist that the dead are not raised, then you must vehemently insist also that Christ is not raised.
