Yeah, Martin and Bush probably will get along. Martin is a "happy warrior" type and a businessman.

I have doubts about him but he's definitely an improvement over Chretien.

What makes me suspicious of Martin is that he's from Quebec and the political types there are very anti military and secondly, he's a big 'L' liberal. On the other hand, he's a fiscal conservative and not too badly tethered to the parish pump. Won't know what he's really about until Parliament opens.

The BC Liberal party is undergoing a horrible scandal as some of their workers are being investigated for activity associated with drug dealing - this might give Martin some embarrassment as one of them is also an important organizer for the federal liberals and gathered an awful lot of memberships for Martin in his campaign to lead the party....

Still, it's an awful long way from BC to Ottawa.
