>>> Just think that were Gaddafi a texas citizen he would have been executed by now, but Bush instead is welcoming him into the community of nations. Odd that he has more compassion and forgiveness for a terrorist who killed American citizens that for killers in his home state.<<<

Why wouldn't Bush welcome him. Bush thinks Gaddafi has helped him politically. Just like when he executed all those people in Texas, their deaths helped him politically.

If one were to go back and read the statements about Libya back when Libya assumed the rotating chairmanship in the UN, it was obvious that Gaddafi had changed. But back then, it wasn't politically popular for Bush to support him. Today, Bush is extracting political capital from him by exaggerating the exent of Gaddafi's WMD programs. In fact, Bush media supporters like FOXnews conveniently for Bush dropped the word programs and simply reported Gaddafi had given up his WMD.

Why can't folks admit that virtually every act from this Bush administration is a political one designed only to maintain political power and this is best done by pandering to his base, about 20 to 25 percent of US citizens--the rest of the people don't matter a bit.
