no idea really. All I know is that every time I have seen anger like this in the populace it has resulted in a major upset that was not forseen in the polls. The two examples I have are the congressional election in 98 (people angry about impeachment and dems clobbered the repubs) and California recall (polls said vote would be close).

I am certain Bush won't win a landslide, and that he will lose in the west and northeast. When the Bush people were predicting a landslide I was more confident for a dem win nationally because it said to me that the Bush team is completely unable to gauge sentiment. (there were also rumblings after the Arnold win that California was "in play" for Bush- impossible, way off). Now they are back to saying the vote will be close, so I don't know.

If you want to know what people are thinking, the yahoo stock boards are actually very interesting, if you can find a good one. I like Agilent (A) a spinoff of HP, in Colorado. Apparently Agilent had layoffs in 01 and nobody has found work since except low wage retail. Colorado also has bad real estate. These are probably the states in play.
