It seems to rob people of their ability to think for themselves your visions of making you your own god for your own purpose makes you feel this way. It unsettles you that a Christian knows Who is the Author of life.

"It is possible that I do "hate" religion" A) It sure appears that you do. B) Funny that you don't even know whether you do or not. More of an indication that you do hate it. "What has been the cause of more conflict in human history than "my God is better than your God"? Like the anti-gun argument (that guns kill people, not the guy holding the gun), your reasoning is flawed. Religion doesn't kill people, people kill people. They use religion as justification. Particularly the whackos like OBL. And you are ignoring the FACT that religion has helped millions and millions of people, if not billions.
