Jlallen, although you seem incapable of complex thought and show an entrenched inability to learn, I'll try to make it so simple that even you are unable to avoid some small glimmer of enlightenment. A daunting task, I admit, but I am in the mood for tilting at windmills or, in your case, for teaching calculus to a skunk. If there was any national disgrace in the conduct of the war in Vietnam, it was the disgraceful conduct of those who, like you, acted with arrogance, stupidity and a total lack of humility and wisdom when they implemented and continued a failed policy of occupation OF A COUNTRY OF PEOPLE THAT DID NOT SUPPORT THE OCCUPATION. The price of that arrogance was the lives of the 50,000 or so men and women of America who died there, many of them forced to fight against their will by their own country. An even greater price was paid by the millions of men, women and children of Vietnam who died in that war. And yes, many of them died horrible deaths and had to watch their children and wives die before their eyes. Not surprisingly, in the end most of them fought AGAINST US, not for us. It's true that we left a minority of our Vietnamese supporters to their fates, but that's the key; they were a MINORITY and they fought weakly, if at all. If you're too stupid to realize that we didn't "abandon" them, but rather "abandoned" a failed misadventure that COULD NEVER lead to success, then you're too stupid to talk to. People like you with your black and white thinking and you're inability to accept, much less factor in, facts that counter your need to feel righteous and potent, can never be trusted to see things clearly. That's the reason you're so often forced to respond to posts that disagree with your simplistic thinking by resorting to the elementary school tactics of typing "pinhead poster," or "silly post," or better yet, implying that you have information directly from the source. The fact is that aside from a few of the posters here that are as radical and as dense as you, there would be very few forums where you would hold any sway with thinking people of moderate persuasion. But then that's the reason why you created your own thread and that's the reason why you post here, isn't it? Too funny.
