Hi All,

Ok so here is the new question. Why would I spend $199 for a 512 mb Cruzer when I can get an 80 gig Firewire hard drive for $108?

Yes the Cruzer is smaller but the Firewire drive still fits into my pocket and holds so much more.

Also I see in the press release that Sandisk is also trying to release an MP3 player with thankfully a low price but as with most flash based MP3 players limited storage. Apple the industry leader in the MP3 market with it's iPod just announced the iPod Mini which holds 4 gigs of music at a cost of $249. The new mini is both flash and HD technology but 1000 songs compared to 250 songs with the Cruzer 512 with a cost of $210???

My money goes for the iPod which for $39 more gets 4 times the music. I know from the keynote at MacWorld that Apple is aggressively targeting the high end flash based MP3 player market.

On the bright side a 4 gig MP3 flash only player at $250 would instantly get cash from me as the idea of jogging with a mini HD bouncing around doesn't thrill me in the least.

Hoping for the best.
Clean
