The right to be an idiot is well established Oh, but more than that, The right to do so without legal consequences. as well as the right of the people to defend themselves from the idiots when they form a fifth column against the republic. Which means? Vigilante action on your part? I'll volunteer for your jury. If you mean espionage and sabotage, yes, that is already in the law. The constitution has occasionally impeded, but never prevented, that defense. So how DO you find the Bill of Rights an impediment? The Constitution has NEVER impeded prosecution and punishment for actual violations of the law. Maybe your version of it sometimes, though. But espionage, sabotage, and aiding and abetting the enemies of the United States in time of war has never been condoned by the Constitution. Locking up the Dems would never be more than a minor footnote in the history of this war. I'm sure that's what they said when they locked up the Japanese-American US citizens during WW2. But they were wrong. It did come back to haunt them. And it and what you propose are illegal and unconstitutional. Everyone in this country is NOT required to think YOUR party line whether you link it or not. Be careful what you wish for. You might get it. The next Democratic administration may decide to lock YOU up. Blowhard Bill O'Reilly, the nation's most prominent anti-Hispanic bigot, isn't taken to task for screaming constantly about "troops on the border", while the male menopausal veins stand out his forehead. Imprisoning the fifth column Democrats among us for the duration of a desperate war should inspire even LESS outrage... ======================================================= As for O'Reilly, he takes absurd positions due to the mid-life crisis he mistakes for "independent thinking". Then he gradually backs off, as his fans let him know he's pissing on the carpet again. A year ago he wanted to send ALL those evil Mexicans back and make them file for permission to immigrate-an ethnic cleansing that Stalin, Mao and Hitler would have stood in awe of. And he refused to consider why the Army couldn't "seal off the border". Now he'll let them stay if they have jobs. And he's backed off the Army and will settle for the National Guard (a 2,000-mile Kent State massacre-occurring daily?) There is quite a difference between exercise of free speech by Bill O'Reilly and violating the Constitution to toss political opponents into jail.
