offsets....as we construct by hand and keep a diary of the daily clx readings....so when you keep the moving averages.....the take away value is the "offset"......for example ...on a 10 day moving average ...if the prior 10 day period has a series of minus clx numbers these take away numbers or "offsets" are helping to move the 10 day moving avg up....so if you keep all the prior numbers in front of you then you can see if the offsets are going to help with direction of the moving avg....the clxpp will normally weeken or strengthen before the moving avg bottoms or tops.....the clxpp therefore must be kept and the difference basis a 3 day moving avg of the clx and clxpp will ocilate....thereby giving you a hint at the turn......so when the 3 day moving avg of the clx and clxpp pp gets to minus 3 or lower and the negative offsets are used up as the 10 day moving avg declines then you can pinpoint the turn....helping with that is the dows 12 hr rsi relative to its half span ma....and if the dow or the sp futures have declined in an Elliott wave form of either 3 or 5 waves to a predetermined fibonacci retracement target and ideally in some cases coincident with closing a gap the confidence level for taking a position would be extremely high....snort
