Khatami had told MPs he was hopeful negotiations would bear fruit with the Guardian Council over its decision to bar almost half of the 8,200 aspiring candidates from the race. That's a large number of potential resistance leaders who could be possibly be recruited against the hard-liners.. This is potentially coming to a point where violent resistance might be required.. Of course, I would prefer to see passive resistance enmasse by the greater portion of the Iranian people.. It would hopefully shame the hard-liners into submission.. Hawk
