LOL... yeah I imagine that their version of English must be something else...

The closest I have been to Belize was a visit to the Mayan ruins.... Tikal (Guatemala) Copan (Honduras) and Uxmal, Chichen Itza, and Palenque (Mexico)... plus a trip to San Cristobal de las Casas in Chiapas an incredibly beautiful villages in the high mountains of Chiapas. (Where the current guerrillas are based)--> (*) heard of El Sub-comandante Marcos ? quite a bright and wity guy, putting the goverment of Carlos Salinas de Gortari to shame since 1994... too bad he is a rotten Communist in spite of what he says...

Personally, I agree with some of his points, but not most of them... for one, he tries to blame the US as the main guilty party for the conditions in Mexico.... such is rubbish... anyway... that was an aside.

(*)[Sometimes I have my suspicions that marcos of SI fame, is the Sub Comandante --gggg]

Incredible changes of climate you go through from the jungles of Palaenque to San Cristobal, which actually it gets cold in the middle of May (up high n the mountains).

Another habit: They often refer to themselves as "British". Most tanned British I've ever seen. :-)

actualy, they are... they hold British passports before becoming independent. I do not know theparticular arrangements they ended up with the British Crown aftr independence... btw... these is one of the costs of having political control, instead of economic influence only.... you end up in your soil with all the passport holders at some point.

British tan.... what..? you have never seen the Jamaican Cricket team ? -ggg
