There's plenty of room for improvement in property rights and freedom in China, but the trends are good. The motivations are powerful too - life is tough and incomes low.

IMO, I think the general sense in China is that they know they are destined to enjoy greater and greater freedom simply because it would be difficult for the minority to suddenly revoke the rights that have been given to a billion people.

And the concept of property rights is indeed crucial, as I recently noted.. Communism is dead in China.. Fascism current exists, but even that is likely destined to wane as the people begin to demand a government that is accountable to them, and inevitably chosen by them..
