True - ignorance, arrogance and prejudice know no borders.

;<)

The rest of the world hears a lot more news about us than we hear about them. And US TV, movies and other media reach just about every corner of the globe these days.

I have never met a foreigner who visited the US and came away with really negative impressions after actually being there. Many will have criticisms about how we do this or that, but that's only fair.

The idea of any one country or culture First, Last and Always is badly outdated jingoism. It's no different than the extremists from other groups that threaten America today.

You have to admit that rarely a comment on America is made by non-Americans that compare in lack of knowledge and understanding with your comment on "snorting truffles" in Parisian cafes. Again - truffles, like all other edible mushrooms, and eaten. Not inhaled.

Unless, I guess, you are trying a stunt on Jackass, where they seem capable of snorting a number of unbelievable stuff - I watched them snort mustard and what looked like a colony of little ants.

No, that is not normal practice in Parisian cafes, either.
