Well that is kind of what everyone out in CA is sort of banking on and so far it's worked rather well. Demand for new housing seems to be continually supply constrained and it spills over into existing housing. The same is true in my location as well but not to the extremes seen there. Meanwhile those who are betting the same dynamic works equally well in all locations are setting up for a fall, not just a return to historic rates.
