Well, thick-headed people can certainly turn them into the enemy. They do have memories of PapaBush sending tens of thousands of them into a Saddam Ambush. There is a place in hell for that action. The Shites, don't you understand, are not only the majority in Iraq but are the ones (along with Kurds) who hated Saddam the most. They were the ones we expected to greet us with flowers and flags. Their cities are the still the safest for us. Turning a natural ally (with gravest apologies for PapaBush's murderous ambush of their kin) into an enemy is a stupid thing.
