I see. You are suggesting that Social Security is turned into welfare. How long do you think Social Security would last in this form?

One of the great advocates of Social Security, late Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan of New York always said that liberals should resist this very urge of theirs, because that would be the end of Social Security. It would lose support of middle class, and would quickly be disposed of.

And, BTW, as a reality check, tell me the rate at which FICA would have to be taxed if is started at 25K, and still raised the same money.

The gov't has their taxation backwards.

Somebody sure has it backwards.
