<That they are all liars> Perhaps you accept this statement as some sort of way of excusing lying by the President of the United States and his staff. I don't. When Bill Clinton lied, the substance of the lie was trivial in the overall scheme of things -- but it proved that he could not be trusted to be honest. It was a real blow to his integrity -- and rightly so. It was gutless, juvenile and stupid. The systematic distortions from Cheney, Bush, Powell, Rice and others in the White House are all the more tragic because the lies they told formed the basis for the most important decision a President and a country can make -- the decision to go to war. You can say "they all lie" and pretend it makes no difference. But it makes a difference to me. And it should make a difference to every American who expects this country to be led by a person of integrity -- not a low-life liar.
