The GOP has to scramble now to start attacking Kerry. They were expecting Dean and now Dean might be a goner. What they will find is what William Weld found, that Kerry is very-very difficult to attack except with minutia and showing him as an anti-war protester in 1970. The imaginary joint puffing is part of this. But for many years Kerry was called to straight, too serious and uptight. So he is now having fun playing down that image by loosening up. The Harley, surfing, windsurfing, military jaunts, joking about pot, playing guitar, having a beer or two, etc.
