Al,

Yes, the way to fix Social Security is to move to a funded system for the current unfunded system. But getting there is a > $25 trillion problem (thank you again, FDR).

The only way to get there is to accumulate this money by paying out less and taxing more.

Forget about the ultimate solution of getting to a fully funded state. We can't even afford the current unfunded state with baby boomers retiring, not enough young people, and the health care costs escalating.

Any rational discussion about solving the problem is sabotaged by demagoguery of the Democrats.
