Why? Because when Kamel, Saddam's son-in-law, defected and told the UN, US intelligence and British intelligence that Saddam a) was close to a nuclear capability in the late-80, and, b) that virtually all of Saddam's WMD was destroyed and buried, the Bush-Cheney administration went around the country citing point a) but completely ignoring point b). If point a) was good enough to drum up support for the war (see Cheney's 2002 speech before the VFW convention) why wasn't point b) good enough to even mention? That some Democrats who wanted to look presidential and tough on defense went along with the hoax is irrelevent. Citizens shouldn't support those candidates either. But, especially, they shouldn't support the lying Bush-Cheney ticket. The consequence of the Bush-Cheney lies are our soldiers are now dying and losing limbs!
