Better? Easier, faster, more efficient, yes. More interesting, more diverse, no. And what's the intangible loss of not knowing the guy that owns the grocery store, or the hardware store where you shop?

No, I've been retired several times.

I was just voicing my thoughts on income disparity, and where it might come from. The folks that don't have enough to invest in XM or any other stocks are not likely to get rich, and are likely to retire on what's left of social security. A couple of generations ago, some of those folks might have owned a local business.
