Females generally have less variability in skills like maths (or math as I've learned to say in the US) than males. That is the top 1% of males would be better (and bottom 1% worse)than the top 1% of females even if the mean ability was the same.

The later you reproduce -for Homo Sapiens Sapiens- the better offspring one have. That because the early years raising offsprings properly, is not a priority. The priority is to practice sports, career, holidays, buying homes, eat out and such things...

(which explains why younger parents of the American school my offspring attentd don't like too much home work for theirs).

Once you have done all that stuff, have a more secure economic condition, then, optimally, one should have children. because you're more mature, you can pass the to child a better model of a human being than that human being we were when wer were 25 to 30. (Yeah, I was worse than I am today, believe me!)

A quick comparision on Table 2A
primate.wisc.edu

Male weight is 62.2 Kg vs Elmat 63Kg.

My female offspring weight at birth 3100 vs 3334 on the table

My age when birth by offspring 43 years old.

hey, AC at this age my offspring have an expert as a parent...

Seems we kinda agree here...
I'm sure you must see the light now. seems to be the ultimate capabilities are similar but best results for both genders are not arrived at following identical paths...

they need to start three years before boys There is a flip side to that Maurice... Girls are then by definition capable of much higher operation levels younger... some stimuli appropriate for my daughter @ 3 were utterly wasted on my son at 3. You raise an interesting point. In my experience my son has a much lower 'saturation' level than my daughter had (speaking in equivalence of age terms) so maybe he needs longer stimulation period as a consequence....
From personal observation and experience I'd strongly agree with your statement stop just dumping all children into an age cohort . I was very fortunate in some ways throughout elementary school. Skipped one grade (was not challenged) and was always placed in 'special' classes (no not remedial ;o)a few were pretty unconventional).

I don't think math so is a fair indicator.. It is more a means (as you know) of expression. I know a few math stupid brilliant folks..

Smart like love is not enough

Did you read FredonEverything and the lack of success of women at maths in the world championship stakes?

Being a male, the testosterone factor just went up a couple of levels reading your last post. OK, away with rapier of intelligent thought, it's time for the blunt instruments. It's OK, I really do get along with New Zealenders and Australians as we all share a liking for this type of discussion -g-

Fred is a problem. So are you. That is:- The way things were is some kind of stencil of the way things should be. No room for lateral thought. A denial of anything that may be in fact, different.

You seem to be grasping for evidence that women do not make the best mathematicians. Why?? You will be proved to be a loser imho.
