I find it positive that commercial short (specs long) positions are at the same level they were four months ago but POG went up about $40. So far specs have been very persistent. I don't think a lot of open interest has been closed this week.

What about coming Equity Gold Trust? It should absorb a lot of physical metal. Could it be that some long spec position are earmarked for Equity Gold Trust, so they will take delivery?

About the only way to offset these input costs is to accelerate the process of jettisoning American labor, and getting labor costs overseas.
