Well, for the first two weeks of 2004, "my" diamond portfolio, below, is up an average of 5.6%.

Well, you've drawn attention to the oldest trick in the book -- make your calls just before Christmas, as the tax-loss selling hits its peak (or low, depending on your perspective). It's a good time to buy, eh?

I've come up with another way of looking at it. How many 'wires will I likely be writing on these outfits in 2004. There's some great candidates for my over-all leader on your list, for sure. There's a direct relationship between media attention and news, and probably a decent correlation between news and share price as well. (Not necessarily in the "up" direction.

Best of luck,

WillP

<SWY has a lofty cap,
but it may be the next Aber.>

To repeat for me the diamond game is swinging for the fences:

Message 19669090

My current gem portfolio (FWIW)

(In addition to a large core position in ABER)

large positions:
SWY
ADD
TGX

and smaller holdings
MTX
DOS
DDN
MAJ
SRM
HMI

thinking that I should add GEM

and always open to suggestions
