Hussein was more competent at running the country. Saddam was more competent because he was ruthless and merciless. Does the US want to employ the Saddam Hussein method of keeping a citizenry in line? I certainly hope not. And if it's not about turning Iraq back over to the Iraqi people then the US Military is going to be in Iraq for decades. Or maybe just until the oil runs out. But that can't be right because this invasion wasn't about oil;-)
