It depends on your card. In some cases, the DVI and analog ports are just alternate output formats for the same image. In other cases, the card supports seperate display surfaces on each output.

What card do you have?

I would guess, though, that the answer is "no". Generally, a card that supports DVI and supports dual screens will have at least 3 connectors - DVI and analog for the first screen, and analog for the second.

If you have only two connectors - one analog and one DVI - they are most likely there just to be able to connect to a single screen using either an analog or DVI connection.

Other cards will have both analog and DVI for both screens. Some may even have analog for a third screen.

beckya,

Last month I upgraded my video card to the ATI All-In-Wonder 9600 pro. This card fully supports two analog monitors and has a nice software package that will allow you set up your displays in a number of ways. ATI calls this Hydravision.

They also have a multiple desktop feature which will allow you to switch to groups of applications with a single click. I would think this would be very nice for someone tracking a lot of data while trading. I run my dual 19 inch Viewsonics as one very wide screen. I can drag applications to either monitor and the ATI software will allow you to select a certain monitor as the default for each time you open an application.

Overall I give the card a high rating. I upgraded from the ATI AIW 8500DV, and I think it was worth the 215 bucks.

And, if you like games or to edit video, then this card is pretty decent. Here is a link to the card on NewEgg.

Good Luck

EDIT, if you do get this card, make sure you get the latest drivers from ATI. ATI "hides" many of the drivers in the trouble-shooting sections. I guess they don't want to give people too many choices until they have failed with the latest main driver release. If you play Quake3 and use XP you will have to find the right drivers hidden on the site.
