There were certainly valid reasons for doing something in Iraq, you had 27m living under a brutal dictatorship compounded by sanctions, just for a start .... the evil lies in how action was decided, and then how it was executed, imho .... here are some well-thought opinions [not that i agree with them all], a few touch on what i see as the central point, hubris leading straight to unilateralist dickheadery - #reply-19702486

What do we do next, is the question today .... extract from Bush a clear apology and a promise to work toward cooperation, then pitch in and cooperate all we can, in Iraq and everywhere else, i say .... absent a clear apology, we resist each day in such small way as we find practical, keep chipping away at the monster .... and somehow we've got to generate a leadership with the balls to stand up and express this [though in more diplomatic terms]
