His position on abortion seems to be in line with the moderates of both parties. He believes abortion is a terrible thing, but isn't in too big a hurry to abolish it.

I have more respect for the hardcore pro-lifers. To me calling yourself a christian and allowing abortion to continue are totally imcompatible.

I wonder if he even reads his Bible. Bush is a politician; and, contrary to popular belief, he is a very good one. I suspect that as with most politicians, Christianity for him is something of a prop. Bush would as soon embrace Islam if it would work socially and politically.
