Whether or not you agree with the details of the article, the first question is this.

Is it possible for mere words, during a time of war, to be treasonous? That is a simple yes or no question.

If you say no, then the discussion is over.

If you say yes, then the question is whether the line is drawn.

Before you answer, consider this hypothetical. Suppose while Bush was flying over the Atlantic on his Thanksgiving trip to Iraq a Congressperson had gone live on Al Jazeera (sp) and announced that the President was at that moment flying to Iraq and intended to land at Baghad airport at such and such a time in such and such a plane.

Treason? Or permitted free speech? It's a simple question.
