To make matters worse for Bush, the investigation into the leaking of the CIA operative's name should be putting some kind of pressure on Rove. He's pretty much used to just taking others apart, especially when it comes to electioneering.

If Rove becomes distracted because he has to defend himself, perhaps Bush might end up with a downsizing of the advice he needs. Clearly, Bush can't do much on his own. And, who knows, maybe this is already having an effect and it's why we're seeing not particularly well-thought out pandering moves now streaming out of the White House.
