It's all about global warming. That is what the record low temperatures are all about. Farmers tell me in Northern Ontario, that their growing season is several weeks longer than it was when they were kids. ( Aside --> They also tell me that when they cut open a few year old chickens, that the birds frequently have cancer, which is something they never saw when they were kids. It could be in the feed and insecticides is my guess. Chickens don't smoke, work in factories or changeout transformers with PCB's. A chicken's stress level has not changed much in the past 50 years..) The Eskimos say that polar bears are starving because in the winter they do not have enough pack ice to hunt seals from, and in the NWT sometimes the winter roads are not freezing like they used to from November to April. Some years the winter roads are not passable at all. So when it gets really cold, it is global warming for sure. It's the exception that makes the rule. What is causing it? That is the 64 dollar question. I think it has something to do with chickens. Obviously it is complexly multivariant. That means if you did know you had the answer, you could not undertstand it, let alone explain it. If you take a chicken to central park in the dead of winter and look deep into its eyes, eventually it will all become clear to you. Don't let people catch you doing this. It is however, a good protection against being mugged, as even criminals tend to stay away from crazy people. EC<:-}
