There is no surplus SS. There never was any SS money. It has always, under every administration, gone directly to the general treasury.

SS is a scam and always has been.

Dear lying and libeling Kenneth E. Phillipps, any person who confronts and honest appraisal of their personal failings with an ignore has a severe case of social insecurity.

Yes, Kenneth, congratulations!

Because you were lucky enough to be born earlier than I,
you have benefited (and will continue to benefit for
a while) from being on the leading edge of the grand
Ponzi scheme known as "Social Security".

Meanwhile, younger workers like myself (who are currently
being forced to pay much higher Social Security taxes than
you ever paid during your working career) will be
screwed. We are the unfortunate late entrants into
the Ponzi scheme, and we will lose our entire "investment".

Yes, Kenneth, once again... congratulations!
Your generation has successfully screwed and stolen
from our generation! You should be very proud of yourself!
