I had the same reaction from yours.

Islamic extremists are fighting God’s war against corrupt infidels. Nothing we can do (short of submitting) can please them. Read Qutb.

Did it occur to you that "Islamic extemists" is not a fixed or single entity? It grows based on the perception that their actions are motivated by a just cause. Does it make a difference whether there are 100,000 or 1,000,000 terrorists? Does it make a difference whether their cause is viewed as just by 1,000,000 or 100,000,000 people?

If by some remote chance you think that 1,000,000 terrorists are worse than 100,000 terrorists...there are only a relatively small number [in the hundreds] of terrorists in Iraq making the lives of 200,000 coalition forces less than ideal.
