Yes, after I posted that I realized that of course you must know already that you could turn off the animations on app open. Indeed, the icons bouncing when an application wants attention are apparently not optional.

I guess that puts them into the category of "things we cannot change."

Young Doren. Have you tried preferences for Fetch to turn off the bouncing dock icon?
