99% of new gun laws pick on the honest guy. Case up by Chicago recently. Perp broke into a house, stole stuff plus the keys to and the BMW SUV. Owner got nervious and bought a hand gun. 5 days later the perp drives the Beemer back, unlocks the door with a stolen key while the home owner is putting his kids to bed. He hears the noise, gets his gun. Perp pulls a gun and the owner shoots him. The home owner gets nailed for no FOID card which takes 30 days to get and owning a hand gun in a town where they are banned. The faulking police chief said the guy was more likely to shoot his kids than the perp he shot.
