I've prepared tax returns for people who made 20,000 a year and still managed to make a full ($2,000) IRA deposit. It is really about the priorities people set more than it is some inherent economic disadvantage.

That's strange! You would think that someone who makes 20k per year and has "set" their priorities could not afford a CPA.....nor would want to.
