The "force you to save money" is a Bush proposal and a Republican platform. You're confused about Bush has proposed as well as the Republican platform. The privatization of SS is more about recognizing that this nightmare created by liberals is collapsing and short of a degree of privatization, there is no saving it. Thanks to the Democrats' tactics, our nation's very existence is threatened by this horrible program, and Bush has proposed the only thing that can save it at this point.
