Adam Smith could not have had all the correct answers for economic theory in the 21st Century.

No, but he had "Free Trade" nailed.

Who said he did have all the answers? I just used an analogy and gave him credit rather then stealing it. The argument was the analogy not an argument from authority using Adam Smith as the authority. Individuals and companies desire profit. That desire for profit, greed if that is what you want to call it, has been the biggest force for good in the history of the earth. Without it most of our economic development would not have happened. Far less people would be alive and those that where alive would have shorter more miserable lives.
