Match points, both vulnerable. You hold: Q AKQTx xxx AQxx Opps pass throughout, you open 1H, pard 1S, you 2C, pard 3C. Your turn. 3H should be forcing IMO and if it is I bid that and let part make the next call. If 3H is not forcing then 3D sure as H is and I bid 4th suit forcing. If over 3H or 3D partner bids 3S then NT is totally out of the question (not that I wanted that anyway) I hope partner is short D with spade A and we have a slam in Clubs. The trick is figuring that out and stopping in 4H if not. Now let's see where that leaves us. Is 1H 1S 2C 3C 3H 3S 4C forcing? Again I sure would think so. If so I try that begging partner to show a D control of any kind. If partner has 2 hearts I hope he takes me back to 4H and we are done. Otherwise we end up in 5C (hopefully not off the first 3 diamond tricks). Was this a real hand? I am guessing partners hand is Axxxxx xx x Kxxx OR Axxxx xx xx Kxxx OR Axxxx xx x Kxxxx This hand is the kiss of death Axxx x xxx Kxxxx (and I demand a new partner) ggg Very tough to stop in 4C and if D break you belong in 3NT anyway with no good way to get there With the first or 3rd hand I want to be in 6C With the second hand I want to get to 4H If partner had a D stop and bids 3NT over 3(4th suit forc)D or 3forcingH then I give up and we play right there. at 12:30 and drinking I am not sure of any of this but How the H did I do?
