They blew it by too soon joining in the chorus mocking him : now I expect that they're going to have to face someone with much wider appeal to all democrats and independents. >>Still, the Bush campaign takes comfort in the fact that at least it does not have to prepare for the possibility of Mr. Bush facing a centrist Democrat, such as Sen. Zell Miller of Georgia or Sen. John B. Breaux of Louisiana. "No matter who the nominee is, we're guaranteed we'll be running against someone who has moved so far to the left of the political spectrum in the primary process that they're going to have a very hard time appealing to moderate voters when it comes to the general election," Miss Iverson said. >> Are they really dumb enough to believe this ? They think Clark won't play well to moderates and even many conservatives ? LOLOLOLOLOL Kerry will be getting a lot of attention now, but won't play as well in much of the south and south central. Clark's a few chess moves ahead, and has been rapidly polishing his delivery. The pundits focus on a few Clark "gaffes", primarily media-hyped, but who's been paying attention except for them, other political junkies, and the bushies who truly fear his appeal ? Minor ripples in the pond. The Clark story, sensible-centrist positions, and his personal warmth and appeal are fast gaining exposure. Edwards is also likely to keep things interesting. King George and Darth Cheney are going to have their hands full trying to extricate themselves from their pseudo democracy quagmire in Iraq, questions about a draft, and the ever present "where did the good jobs, pensions, and health care for average Americans go" ? After a short bounce from a SOTU speech full of candy canes and chocolate truffles for everyone, I expect a series of setbacks for the republi-cons.
