Oh people are arguing against science now, this century- all over the world. In the US just check out the creationists- they are NOT on board with science, and they haven't a CLUE as to the difference between theory, and their beliefs. It would be funny, as a freak show, if it didn't actually interfere with education.

The creationism movement is alive and well in some parts of the US, where Darwin remains a heretical subversive.

Though the evolution debate may just be a symptom of folks who want social absolutism where their "values" are imposed on everyone, period.

The antithesis of tolerance and respect.
