"Can you pull out a moral, can you x-ray a principle"

You cannot x-ray ideas or agreements, of course. But you can define them in their relative and subjective meanings. For example, the blue uniforms can agree to kill the grey uniforms--on principle--and in the furtherance of moral ideas, and vice-versa. In the same way, we can set armies against one another on the basis of blue souls versus grey souls.

Most people are aware that "principles" are not physical entities but are merely ideas--capricious and mercurial. Although there are some whom equate the realm of ideas in some blank and silent way with some supposed entity called "soul", the only reliable evidence we have shows that ideas depend from physical CNS matter, and that they (ideas) cease to exist when such physical underpinnings are damaged or destroyed. Of course, we know only what we know...and some of us are content to stop at that.
