As a lawyer, I have too much knowledge of the ethics and practices of trial lawyers like Edwards to think that they would make good presidents. I haven't looked extensively at Edwards's background, and it is possible he is enough out of the mold that he deserves consideration, but frankly I haven't heard anything from him or read anything by him to reassure me.

And if he were elected, there would be an end to any possibilities of tort reform, which I think is necessary if our society is to return to legal health.

Kerry little substance, other than money, behind the war "hero," Wes Clark, great candidate before he began and now bitter disappointment and opportunist from the date of his announcement.

rruff,

I'm curious as to your specific reasoning behind these statements?

Why do you believe that Kerry has "little substance?" Are you speaking on a personal or a political level?

And what has Wes Clark done to change from a "great candidate" to a "bitter disappointment and opportunist?"

I am curious because it seems that a man who accomplished what Kerry accomplished in Viet Nam and in public life, would be considered a person of substance. And I have not heard of anything that Clark has done to earn the label of bitter disappointment. Would you kindly explain your view?

Thanks,
Still

Kerry won in Iowa 38%, Edwards 2nd 32%, Dean third 18%

My opinions:

Dean is done. His wife was smart not to disturb her life. Gephardt already dropped out. Lieberman, Kucinish will go next.

Will now be a 3 man race - Kerry, Edwards, Clark.

Kerry/Edwards - likely ticket IMO. Clark will self-destruct - again IMO.

Damn, a Dean nomination was too much to hope for. Clark would be almost as good but why kid myself - it ain't gonna happen.
