Why not just call it like it is, the regular boom and bust cycle that the Feds can only slow down or speed up? Clinton went along for the ride up, then jumped off just at the right time. There wasn't anything Bush can do except speed up the arrival of the next boom, which has arguably started now.

No! Because Clinton did make it happen! Its not an urban myth like so many conservative stories. It took a number of years but Clinton got unemployment done, people off welfare and created annual budget surpluses. You're lucky he was so good; otherwise, we would be in the worst recession in decades thanks to Bush's mismanagement of the economy!
